Meet the Doctors

Dr. Patterson

Owner, DVM

Dr. William Patterson, a lifelong animal lover, grew up at Patterson Veterinary. He carried on the tradition of practicing veterinary medicine from his father, Dr. Vern Patterson. Dr. Patterson received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Michigan State University and continued to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Ross University in 1985. Dr. Patterson is passionate about helping the local community and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Mount Clemens.

Dr. Patterson lives with his wife, Sheree. Together, they have two sons – Bill Jr. and Andrew, golden retrievers Callie and Issie, and rescue a chihuahua, Winky. Bill graduated from Nova Southeastern and is now practicing as a D.O. in Boston, MA. Andrew graduated with a B.A. from Michigan State University and works in commercial design.

In his spare time, Dr. Patterson is an avid poultry breeder and exhibitor, following in his father’s footsteps. He shows and judges nationwide and has enjoyed this pastime for 40 years. His passion gained the interest of Animal Planet producers and was filmed as a portion of their show “Fowl Play” in 2006.

Dr. Lynch

Associate DVM

Dr. Tamara Lynch graduated from Michigan State University and has been practicing small animal medicine for 25 years. She spent the first four years as a veterinarian in the United States Army. She served as a captain in the Veterinary Corps and is proud to have served our country. She also worked as an emergency and critical care doctor for several years, giving her a breadth and depth of experience. Dr. Lynch enjoys soft tissue surgery and internal medicine, but her favorite part of veterinary medicine is getting to pet dogs and cats all day.

Dr. Lynch has three children. Her oldest son, Brian, is attending Michigan State University to become an orthopedic surgeon. Her daughter, Sara, is attending Syracuse University’s Information Systems program. Her youngest son, Joe, is a sophomore at Port Huron High School and is active in track and soccer. Mookie, her grand kitten, is the newest addition to the family.

In her free time, Dr. Lynch likes to bake, cross-stitch, ride horses when she can, and travel. She also has dreams of becoming a full-fledged computer geek.

Dr. Hildebrand

Associate DVM

Dr. Hildebrand graduated in 1997 and has been with Patterson Veterinary Hospital since 1999.

She has an English Bulldog, a Boston Terrier, and two Orange Tabby Cats. She lives at home with her husband and son.

In her spare time, Dr. Hildebrand enjoys traveling, reading, boating, and scuba diving.

Dr. Wilson

Associate DVM

Dr. Sarah Wilson, an AVMA and MVMA member, was born and raised locally in Shelby Township and attended Eisenhower High School. She enjoys the ability to keep close to her family while thriving at Patterson Veterinary Hospital. She has always had a love for science and animals and started to develop her passion at Utica Math, Science, and Technology Center. This was the start of her achieved goal of being able to exert her passions while helping both people AND animals.

She attended Michigan State University, where she earned both her B.S. degrees and DVM in Veterinary Medicine. While in Veterinary school, she focused on nutrition and public health. She then went on to intern at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as work with outbreak response in California. This gave Dr. Wilson an abundance of experience working with health and disease, which she uses daily in diagnosing her patients.

Dr. Wilson, formerly Dr. Fox, recently married Chad Wilson – a successful website developer and computer programmer. They both love reading and traveling. They enjoy their 4-year-old Golden Retriever, Aoife, an avid hunter of chipmunks and groundhogs. Dr. Wilson enjoys spending her free time with her beloved family, friends, and horses. You might catch her playing a tune on the piano or going on an adventure. She also has shown a true avocation for her horses: Dreamer (10 years old), Jakob (2 years old), and Peitsje (12 years old), which is Peaches in Dutch.  All three horses recently moved here all the way from Europe. Don’t forget to ask about them on your next visit!

Dr. Van

Associate DVM

Dr. Andrea Van joined Patterson Veterinary Hospital in 2016 and is a graduate of Ross University. She also has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Animal Science B.S. She has a special interest in companion animal wellness and sports medicine and is certified in animal chiropractics from the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Center in ON, CAN.

Dr. Van is originally from New York but has lived and practiced in Michigan since 2014 after marrying “the other Dr. Van,” Dan VanSteenkiste of Advance Animal Emergency, Patterson’s neighboring emergency clinic. She spends her days off with her husband and two children and enjoys horseback riding, traveling, and caring for her small farm and animals. This includes her pictured Labradors, Kitts and Indy.
